BLOOD CELLS IMPACTED BY PANCYTOPENIA

Three major types of blood cells that are affected by pancytopenia, include:

PANCYTOPENIA SYMPTOMS INCLUDE:

• Anaemia causes fatigue, shortness of breath and rapid heart rate.
• Thrombocytopenia causes heavy bleeding or easy bruising.
• Leukopenia or Neutropenia, a low white cell count, causing pain in urination, fever or cough.
• DIAGNOSIS

Pancytopenia, as you may know, is noted on the complete blood count. Initially, the evaluation of low-level blood cells is repeated. A peripheral blood smear is then done to understand each type of cell. In case it says you have pancytopenia, the next step is to conduct a bone marrow biopsy.
